SKK Migas, or the Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities, is an Indonesian government institution established to manage upstream oil and gas operations based on Cooperation Contracts. Located in Jakarta, it plays a crucial role in maximizing the benefits and revenue from Indonesia's natural resources, contributing to the prosperity of the nation.
The organization oversees oil and gas operations conducted by contractors, implementing strategies to optimize production, including the use of Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) technologies. SKK Migas also focuses on reactivating idle wells and promoting exploration activities to meet national energy demands. Additionally, it regulates carbon capture and storage (CCS) activities, extending its oversight to other industries such as iron and steel and glass.
With approximately 1,431 employees and an annual revenue of around $364 million, SKK Migas collaborates with the Indonesian government, state-owned enterprises, and oil and gas contractors to ensure efficient resource management and support national energy security and economic growth.
